Floèmee is a Brussels-based duo formed by Belgo-Iranian musician Nazanin Yalda and Spanish composer Alex Recio. Together they craft a raw and poetic sound world where tradition collides with experimentation.
At the heart of their music lies the dialogue between the setar, an Iranian string instrument performed live and processed through electronics accompanied by layered productions inspired by left-field techno, IDM, and experimental club music. Vocals in Persian weave in and out of this texture, creating a balance between intimacy and intensity, structure and improvisation.
Both musicians share a classical background, Nazanin in piano , Alex in guitar and composition, which they have gradually expanded toward more exploratory practices. Since meeting at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, they have been shaping an artistic identity that bridges cultures and aesthetics, dissolving boundaries between electronic music, poetry and live performance.
Their live sets are constantly evolving, ranging from atmospheric to rhythm-driven, building toward a deeper, more intense energy while preserving their core poetic signature. For they current project Mutavaria , they are now integrating live visuals with their music, where parameters respond in real time to the sounds emerging on stage. This approach opens a field of visual improvisation and deepens the immersive experience they like to offer to the audience.
In 2023, they were awarded second place at Concours Circuit, which marked them as an emerging force on the Belgian scene. A year later, they released their debut album Narvan on the Belgian label Soond, reimagining a love song by the Persian poet Saadi through immersive electronic soundscapes. Since then, they have played more than 40 concerts across Belgium, Spain, and Germany, presenting their work in venues and festivals.
